Reborn From the Ruins 

PROJECT INTRO

Location: Wushigang industrial park, Dongguan, Guangdong province, China

Wushigang Industrial District has reaped the benefits from its labor-intensive industries, so it rides into one of the top wealthy cities in China since the middle of the 20th century. During this time, Dongguan shaped itself as an ultimate dreamland for growing industry factories establishments; massive working factories, constructions, and transit networks are springing up. Meanwhile, the awash of investments brings labor in spurs the local economy. And it also attracts intelligent brains coming to create their enterprises. However, it is now facing a transformation challenge due to the latest global financial crisis. This project aims to leverage the existing construction and geographic location combined with its areal planning transformation goal. The goal is to provide the ground for industry upgrades as well as the rejuvenation of the local community.
